Programmable Drum Machine

 

We are proud to release a Brazilloops programmable iOS drum editor!

Samba Step is a 4/8/16 step drum machine with ability to program your own beats and full songs for your performance. Imagine you can have a Brazilian beats drum player customized for your song with intros, fills and ending sections. That’s Samba Step is designed for.

It’s very simple and intuitive to work with:

Samba Step has 4 user screens: Step(home), Mixer, Songs and Pads

STEP

First page. There where we have all those steps, those little “squares”. When it’s orange is when the instrument is hit (on) and when is black/gray is off(space). On the left we have 8 instruments ( Surdo, Kick, Tamborim, Pandeiro 1 e 2, Shaker, Cuica 1 e 2). Up we have the 16 steps. When you press play (>) you will see the purple light traveling through the steps firing the instruments at the orange locations, creating the beat.

If you touch the squares you will add or delete the hit sounds of each instrument creating your own custom beats!  Try deleting the “cuicas” and add  them again in another positions and you can feel the new beat you just created. Reset (Reset button) everything, try different steps( Step button) try randomly touching the squares and you will see how it will work.

You can save your new beat (Save button) , recall them (MyBeats button) or try some factory ones (touch the right side of the beat label). You can change the speed ( + – ) or even send the beats to someone else (Send button) using share option of your device.

MIXER

There you can adjust the volume of each instrument as well as the pan ( left or right).

You can mute and adjust the master volume too.

SONG

Here you can create a song: a sequence with the factory and your user beats. You just need to add a factory or a user song and they will appear on the right screen in a sequence.

Add (Add button) a factory or user beat by scrolling the above yellow picker. Factory beats are the defaults beats which comes with the machine. The user beats are the ones you just saved from the Step page. Keep adding or deleting (DEL) them along with the intro and fills, save them (SAVE) and retrieve (right side of the song label) to play. You can loop (Loop switch) to speed up or down. You also have an option to delete the saved songs at  X .

PADS

The pads page will show 8 large square buttons as they will act each one as an instrument pad. Just hit it the pad to hear the Surdo, Bumbo, Tamborim, Shaker 2 Pandeiros and 2 Cuicas.
